The ones that didn't make it

The title of today's post sounds like something from World War II, but it's about birds.
Last month, when I didn't have time to do anything but slave over those papers there was a couple of Parus major nesting in our carport. The little hatchlings crying out for food all day long. I don't know how many hatched in total, but there must have been three or more, because, sadly, three fell out of the nest with two day intervals. They were already done for, so I couldn't put them back. You can see the rapidity of arrested growth between the tiny cadavers.
